Bible Question: How should we interpret Luke 16:1-9? |
Bible Answer: Hi Bela, I understand this to be a story Jesus tells to illustrate a point, that point being that we should always keep in mind that this world is just temporary, and that we need to use the resources we have in this world for the greatest advantage in the next world. Our resouces - position, wealth - will only last so long. It's the eternal good that we accomplish that will last into the world to come. If we only accomplish worldly good with our things, that will soon be gone. But if we minister to the saints, and invest in evangelism, bringing others to Christ, this will last. The steward was wise in that he was thinking ahead. We are foolish when we don't. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
