Bible Question:
Hi Emmaus, Thanks for you answer. That would certainly seem to be the general concensus. Can I humbly ask, where do you find that "hate your family" is a Hebrew idiom for "love your family less." I would appreciate seeing clear support for this. Why do I ask? Because I could (if I wanted) use this technique on other scripture: "Jesus claim that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life is a Hebrew idiom that He is one of many ways to God." "Jesus teaching on loving your neighbor as yourself is a Hebrew idiom that says that we are only to love those just like us." "Jesus' teaching on loving your enemies is a Hebrew idiom that means we should respect them but not associate with them." I want to be careful that I don't go too far down the road of saying that Jesus did not mean what He said. So I would appreciate it if you could offer some type of Jewish documentation that supports this view. Please translate it into English first, though. :) (Didn't we meet on the road somewhere? :)) seeking4truth |
Bible Answer: Lord Forgive him! For his words have finally labeled him... Till having read this post, I was not aware of the full extent of truth contained in my previous post to you, dear sole. I reference the note in which I used the word "REPROBATE." Per Mr Webster 1 : to condemn strongly as unworthy, unacceptable, or evil *reprobating the laxity of the age* 2 : to foreordain to damnation 3 : to refuse to accept : REJECT synonyms see CRITICIZE –reprobative \*re-pr*-*b*-tiv\ adjective –reprobatory \-b*-*t*r-*, -*t*r-\ adjective After having read this admission from this individual who desecrate the words "seeking4truth;" any who would now say that I have "crossed the line" should consider where their line lies. For what I have said and quoted to this person, I make no appologies. For the post which contains the words to which I apply this note, does not "seek4truth." It admittedly seeks to twist and distort truth. To those who would feed his flames, I would say; open your eyes. and consider closing your mouth. I will follow my own advise . I ask that all who read would join me in prayer for this poor soul. No profound amount of truth dirrected at such an individual will do anything other than confuse and confound the dirrector. Words dirrected in prayer will accomplish what we can not. It is apparent that what this person calls humility is pure arrogence in a poor disguise! No doubt this will fool many. Exortating in its fullest and in Christ. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. George |
