NASB | Luke 12:33 ¶ "Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Luke 12:33 ¶ "Sell your possessions (show compassion) and give [donations] to the poor. Provide money belts for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing and inexhaustible treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. |
Bible Question: I've read this in the KJV also, and I don't quite understand the last part of it. Could you help me out? |
Bible Answer: That probably means the treasure above can't compare to the treasure on earth. They will not be expired or inflated, rottened. They last forever. No thiefs can steal them and no moths or insects will eat them. (In the old days, treasures can be food, animals, clothes or your procession) |
