Bible Question: why in mt 17:12 Jesus is telling that John the baptist was Elijah?? Was Jesus conveying that Elijah was re born as John the baptist?? |
Bible Answer: Jesus said that John the Baptist "shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elias (Elijah). . . Luke 1:17 (KJV)" Elijah was not reborn as John the Baptist. Luke 1:13-17 shows the Angel, Gabriel, telling Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, that he would have a son who would be the forerunner to the Messiah. Does this answer your question?
