Subject: Holy Spirit baptism and tongues |
Bible Note: He had nothing to answer? Maybe that man was wiser than I and realized the futility of trying to reason with a person that is vehemently against that which we attempt to reason. Friend I have studied this subject forward and backwards for over 20 years, I willing to say I have read over 50 books both pro and con on this subject. I have studied the responses of Benjamin Warfield, through John MacArthur on the cessation side and have studied the teachings of Charles Parham to Jack Hayford on the gifts are for today side. I have studied the aspects of the heresy of Montanaism. Having heard the points you raise debated many times by many men. I have at one time or another debated this issue from both sides. Through all of this I stand more convinced than ever tongues are for today. Let us stop this endless debate I suspect we can debate this until the cows come home (a phrase from my past that I saw just today after all these years) and never move the other from his position. I guarantee one thing we will both know the answer one day soon! Be blessed and be a blessing Ed |
