Bible Question:
Scripture ... Rev.6:15-16; 16:15-16; 19:15-16 ... How can these three chapters in in the same 12-hour day. Rev.6:15-16 is about the sixth seal ... the seventh seal is opened in 8:1. There are words like "then" after" betweev chapters 6 and 16. The sixth bowl is seen in 16:15-16. We see the Lord in 19:15-16. It doesn't make sense that these events are concurrent. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Searcher56! How did you arrive at the question that these events were concurrent? I'm just jumping in here to offer an observation. I believe that these chapters you cited could not be happening in a 12 hour day or concurrently. The seals lead into the trumpets which result in the bowls of God's wrath being poured out upon the whole earth. There are specific lengths of time to factor in between these events you have cited. Rev 8:12 is the 4th trumpet which tells us that a "third of the day was dark and a third of the night also." How could this relate to a 12 hour time period? If you notice with the 5th Trumpet in Rev 9: 10 "power was given to them for 5 months." One thing that we must not overlook is the Divine protection of Israel (the 144,000 witnesses) which I believe will last for 1,260 days. (Rev 12:6) Just something to think about. Mommapbs |
