Bible Question: At what phase of the Kingdom of God "coming in Power" did Jesus intend for Mark 9:1 to be fulfilled? Mel Miller lastday@pinn.net |
Bible Answer: I am pretty sure that Mark 9:1 is a reference to what takes place in Acts Chapter 2 when the Holy Spirit comes in power. Act 1:8 "And ye shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you" We must not fall into the trap of thinking Anthropocentrically. Although Christ has not come in power to bring his earthly kingdom into existance yet, he has defeated the "prince of the power of the air"(Satan) and he has been raised up by God "above all names that are named both in heaven and in earth" In the spiritual sense this "kingdom power" came at the coming of the Holy Spirit. Satan is the only real enemy(his name means adversary) not man, and he is defeated. Hope this helps! |
