Bible Question:
What does it mean by "tradition of men"? Some people say that holidays are traditions of men...? Thanks to all Julia |
Bible Answer: Dear Julia, When we look at the celebration of holidays such as Christmas and Easter, it is easy to see that a great deal of man's tradition is mixed with the actual biblical reason for the celebration. However it also easy to see that God intended that important events be celebrated and time taken to remember what God did. An example of this is the instructions given to the Israelites regarding the celebration of Passover, which points to the time that the nation Israel was freed from slavery to Egypt. The birth of Jesus, and His death and resurrection are the most important events in human history and it is very important to pause and remember what God has done. Peace to you, George |
