Bible Question:
Scripture ... MattĀ 10:4, Mark 6:1-3, 15:40, 47; John 19:25-27 jawz, Who is the carpenter, the son of Mary? Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?" ... verse 1,says it was Jesus. There is another James and Joses (15:40, 47). Judas and Simon were also two of His disciples (MattĀ 10:4) The reason His siblings were not at the cross (John 19:25) is because they weren't belivers is the general belief. Just because they weren't there, does not mean they didn't exist. Case in point, there was only one disciple mentioned (vv 26-27). Conclusion, Mary had other children. Searcher |
Bible Answer: So how do you explain Jesus entrusting Mary to the Apostle John. What is your basis for this if Mary has other children. We see in Acts that Jesus "brothers" believe after Jesus resurrection, so if they really are Mary's children they would certainly look after her. For Jesus to entrust his mother to someone else when she had other children would have been a serious breach of tradition and a serious affront to his "brothers. Can you explain this? No? Conclusion, Mary had no other children. |
