NASB | Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?" And they took offense at Him. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 6:3 "Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are His sisters not here with us?" And they were [deeply] offended by Him [and their disapproval blinded them to the fact that He was anointed by God as the Messiah]. |
Subject: Does Mark 6:3 indicate a question..... |
Bible Note: Some skeptics assert that Jesus should have been referred to as the Son of Joseph. Some cite this as evidence that Jesus was a bastard child. As a believer I was shocked and didn't know how to answer, and I agree that the Jewish leaders would have destroyed him in public if there was any hint of an immoral birth. That still leaves the mystery, even if Joseph was dead, he was legally the son of Joseph. |
