Bible Note: Greetings! You asked: How can we rejoice and worship on a day when the Lord of the Sabbath was in the tomb? If Jesus wasn't in the grave, we would have no evidence of His defeat of it. I'm glad to celebrate this! His triumph gives me hope! It seems to me that you are entering into a sea of legalism and performance based Christianity with your determination of the "proper day of worship." Please remember that the sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.(Mark 2:27) The sabbath is a God-given opportunity for us to worship Him! A time for us to be set apart from earthly cares and just focus upon God, praising and thanking Him, which brings both rest and peace to our souls and our lives. Why argue over WHEN to worship - every day is the right day! Think of how your life might be different if you allowed everyday to have a little of the "sabbath rest" in it! We worship when we remember His death and we worship when we rejoice in His triumph over the grave! "But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again? You observe days and months and seasons and years." Gal. 4:9-10 Hoping these thoughts will encourage your worship today! Blessing, Mommapbs |
