AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard this, He said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need of a physician, but [only] those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners [who recognize their sin and humbly seek forgiveness]." |
Bible Question (short): Let Mormon in on family celebrations? |
Question (full): I have been re-married to my husband (MORMON) for 10 months and my brother refuses to let him participate in any family functions. It has made myself and my other siblings uncomfortable. My husband doesn't push any of his beliefs on anyone and never even mentions his beliefs unless someone asks. I don't "see" my brother changing his mind and allowing my husband in on family celebrations. I know we aren't supposed to necessarily seek out those who are of different religions and "hang out" with them, but it says we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. To a certain degree, I would think this would be an opportunity for my brother to witness to my husband like I do. My husband doesn't think my brother is showing any type of Christian behavior and I can't really disagree with him. What would any of you do if the situation were in your family? PS. My brother tells his 5 year old daughter (my niece) that my husband is friends with the Devil). I think this is cruel because my husband loves children and now my niece is afraid of him and has never even seen him) |
