Bible Question:
If God gave us brains, why wouldn't he want us to use them? Let me explain... assume that He really did give us our brains and the power to think. Why would He punish us ("be condemned") for not following the crowd (Christians) and thinking for ourselves? A thinking person does not blindly believe, lets take me for example (Yes I'm full of myself). I have heard the Gospel and I am as of yet a disbeliever, because there is so much do doubt about every religion that I've heard about, and NO proof? Anyone who know's the answer PLEASE tell me, rjohnson@mailbird.net . |
Bible Answer: In your comment... “because there is so much to doubt about every religion that I've heard about, and NO proof?” seems to be a large part of the confusion. Christianity is not a RELIGION but rather a relationship. 2 Cor. 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Denominations is probably what you are referring to by the term Religion. However, if you will simply read the New Testament for yourself... you will see the proof you are searching for, if you seek the truth with a pure heart. Do not read it to prove a point, but rather to find the savior. You admitted that you were an unbeliever - “I have heard the Gospel and I am as of yet a disbeliever” . What do you disbelieve? The word of God? That is you free will choice, but it leaves you in a very precarious position, since Jesus clearly tells us - Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. The question is not whether or not you believe a certain denomination, but that you believe the Word and repent and be saved. That is the first step. Until you are not saved... you will not need to look for a true gathering of God’s people. After you are saved, the Spirit will guide you to a place to fellowship with true believers. He see your heart... whether one of disbelief or one of hungering and thirsting. 2 Cor. 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: Most of the scriptures are hid to you till you receive the basic truth ...that Jesus is savior... and accept that. Than the spirit will open the gospel to you as you walk in the light you receive. God gave you a free will to receive or reject the truth. John 1:11-13 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 3:3-8 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. [4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? [5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. [8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. You ask for proof... History itself tells us that Jesus actually lived and died. Now you have to decide what you will do with this Jesus. |
