Bible Question:
MARK 16:16 ACTS 2:37-38 ACTS 7:54 HOW DO THESE PASSAGES RELATE? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Mark 16:16; Acts 2:37-38, 7:54 ... Grace and Truth, I have refuted all passages of Baptismal Regenerationists. Mark 16:16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. ... it doesn't say those who are not baptized shall be condemned. Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?" (38) Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." ... the tenses for repent and receive are basically the present and baptized is basically the future. Isn't great that this works with Mark 16:16, showing that baptism is related to salvation, but not part of it. I'm not sure how the following relates ... Acts 7:54 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the quick, and they began gnashing their teeth at him. If you want more ... I have a paper on this Searcher |
