AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 11:23 "I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!' and does not doubt in his heart [in God's unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God's will]. Bible Question: What's wrong with having them both, a deeper walk and whatever I ask? His word says seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness then all the other things will be added. Well, is it possible to have both? help me to understand??? |
Bible Answer: both what? The prerequisite is to seek first His Kingdom. If you are consumed with Christ, there is nothing left for you to consume of yourself. If you are dead to self you are not concerned with self gratification. If Jesus said these things will be added to you if you first seek Him, and Jesus also said Take not thought for what you should eat or wear etc, then it is obvious that as you are busy seeking the Things of God He will take care of you. He will take care of your housing. If He as taken care of it, don't seek a bigger one, instead seek His kingdom, leave your physical needs up to him. Flee from the flase teachers of today that try and teach that material gain is the measure of faith. This is not the gospel but an anti-gospel and when the Lord comes back many of those that say they have faith will be told they have none. True Faith seeks His Kingdom, which is all about loving others and serving others, it is about seeing souls saved and delivered from sin. It is about being holy yourself and more like Christ day by day, whether you live in a tent or in a house. The true gospel says if you have more than you need, sell it and give to those that have need. It is harder for a rich man to enter into heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of the needle because, few rich will give their riches to those in need. Justification for hording wealth will ring from the rooftops until Jesus Comes, but many will be ashamed in that day. May God keep us from covetousness and help us give of our abundance to our brothers in need. |
