Bible Question: I am doing a study on communication because I don't always communicate effectively. What does this verse have to do with communication between two people? |
Bible Answer: Hi, ckj! Ray gave you an excellent adaptation on the selected Scripture... I would simply add that you should also look into other Scriptural passages that speak on how Christians are commanded to behave towards each other (and the world): Galatians 5:14-16; Ephisians 4:2-4; 32; Colossenses 3:16; Hebrews 3:13; James 1:19-20; 4:11-17; 5:12; These passages speak on our mode of conduct--the old adage "stick and stones..." was well-meaning but fell quite short of the truth... we can kill with a word (no not taking it out of Dune)... we can lie, cheat, corrupt, salvage or edify... it is all up to the words we choose to communicate to others and the veracity of our word (after all word is bond)... If you are slow to anger, quick to listen, and quick still to acknowledge others, as you share the truth, you will be communicating in an excellent plane... a Christian plane of existence! God Bless!
