Bible Question: what is Mark 10:32-45 main focus is? |
Bible Answer: Actually you have two thoughts here. In verses 32-34 Jesus is once again for the 3 time telling of his betrayal death and resurrection. In verses 35-45 we see the James and John sort of vying for position. They want assurance that Jesus is going to reward them when he comes into His kingdom. Jesus tells them who would sit on His right and left is not His decision but the decision of God. Jesus then goes on to say that position of leadership in His kingdom is not one of having authority as the Gentiles consider it but rather of servanthood. To be great in the kingdom of God you must serve. This is a lesson lost on many today. Within the church we have many that desire power, prestige and to be served and few that serve. EdB |
