Bible Question: Mark 10:29-30, Has anyone found an answer for these verses? |
Bible Answer: Mark 10:28-31 NASB Peter began to say to Him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed You." Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel's sake, but that he shall receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. But many who are first, will be last; and the last, first." Aloha: I am missing the question, to me this passage makes complete sense with the entirety of Jesus’ statement. Peter makes the statement, “Behold, we have left all to follow [You].” Joshua (the name of Messiah) states what you give up on earth for the good tidings (euaggelion or gospel) will get back 100 times more with eternal life. But many who are rich here on earth will be poor in heaven and the poor on earth will be rich in heaven (my loose translation.) Aloha, in this season we celebrate the Incarnation. |
