AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 9:13 "Go and learn what this [Scripture] means: 'I DESIRE COMPASSION [for those in distress], AND NOT [animal] SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call [to repentance] the [self-proclaimed] righteous [who see no need to change], but sinners [those who recognize their sin and actively seek forgiveness]." Bible Note: Hi mommapbs, Thank you for those Scriptures for I think that they are a perfect match for comparing Scripture to Scripture. The NASB Study Bible margin has [Or, mercy] for compassion and Hosea's "loyalty". He delights in our knowing Him rather than burnt offerings. And the ones who dealt treacherously against Him were the sinners whom He came to call. Thanks again. From the heart, Ray |
