In Luke 6:20 Jesus says, "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God."

For the Lord is near the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), He heals the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3) and binds them (Isaiah 61:1).

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise." Psalm 51:17

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8

The poor in spirit and brokenhearted will see and be with God, and He will be their refuge.
