Bible Note: Dear Brother Tim, Blessed be the name of the Lord forever! Praise be to God! Oh Lord my God, early in the morning when I'm riding my bicylce and the sun begins to rise I see the beauty of what thou hast created! All praise be to Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the world! I don't know how many postings you have viewed on this thread. I read in one of the postings that the spirit of God did not dwell in Old Testament prophets. I need some guidance on this. In the OT I see examples of what appear to me to be God's indwelling, or, maybe these are visits? Here are some examples: King Nebuchadnezzar says of Daniel that the spirit of the holy gods is in you. Dan 4:8,9,18 Dan 5:11,14 More examples: Gen 41:38, Exodus 31:3, Exodus 35:31, Numbers 24:2, 1 Sam 10:10, 1 Sam 11:6, 1 Sam 19:20,23, 1 Sam 16:13, 2 Chr 15:2, 2 Chr 24:20, Job 33:4, Eze 11:24, Isa 48:16, Isa 61:1, Eze 11:5. This also leads me to a couple of other question (which I'm sure have already been adressed on the forum. I am going to do a "quick search"). 1)When sin(s) was committed in the OT, were they (Abraham, Moses, David, etc...) "erased" "remembered no more" before the actual shedding of Jesus blood because they had faith of the promise, or, where they, as I have heard some say, visited by Jesus after He was risen and then taken to a place prepared for them? 2) Where did they go before the sacrifice (the shedding of the blood) was made for the forgiveness of sins? Was a different place than "His rest"? Side note for In the Andes and McGracer: Bretheren, This is not a challenge to any postings be either of you. Just a display of my lack of knowledge and eagerness to learn more about God's word. Thank You in advance my Brother, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
