Subject: Healing powers of the false prophets? |
Bible Note: Dear Mommapbs, What a wonderful answer, with a wealth of scriptural knowledge. Although I didn't mean to come across as I was in judgment. I am more concerned with my own personal evangelism. If they can be deceived with their knowledge of the scriptures then where do I stand? It seems like it is more difficult to "just" believe than meets the eye. I mean that the more I study (not just memorizing, but understanding) the more I want to learn and the more amazing this whole deal is. But I don't want to be deceived into learning the "wrong" truth. I do understand the wrong motives of preaching, such as greed, but that is something that must be obvious (isn’t it?). That’s not what I am worried about. I am worried about believing my own (or his own) lies as if they were coming from the Lord, e.g. how hard would it be to start a ministry with the right heart, run millions of dollars through it, then start making excuses for why I need a fortress of a home around a 40 acre lake (that I just purchased) for the purpose of protecting my family from the evil elements around me (or at least that would be the excuse). That’s not how I think anymore, but do you see where I am going with this? It seems the more you know the subtler Satan is. Again, I am in no position to judge anyone with final judgment (however I will judge whom I follow), so I apologize for coming off like that. I thank you very much and may God bless you and this forum. William |
