Bible Question:
These people are denied entry to kingdom of God because they never really knew the Lord. Were they ones who were deceived? Were did they get their power to cast out demons from? Does Satin or the Antichrist have power to use the lords’ name to perform miracles? I noticed some good comments on the 1/2/02 posts. One offered the idea that they were actually trying to lie on that Day of Judgment. Another more scary idea, yet as feasible, was that they believed in a 'false Jesus' using his name only but not his reality (maybe having the form of Godliness but denying the power thereof?). When I say Scary, I worry about many preachers, men of God, faith healers, etc. who have really come to believe they are anointed by the Lord and in fact may not be. That's a kind of fear that any Christian should be afraid. Any comments. |
Bible Answer: Hi, Great topic!!!! I wouldn't say this is an answer, but some scripture which makes me just as concerned as you are. Take a look at 2 Thes 2:1-12. ..1st Point... "7-For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work" ..2nd Point... "9-The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10-and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved." ..3rd point... "11-And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12-that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. I find verse 11 and 12 amazing. God allows this deception to take place, because the people take pleasure in unrighteousness. (They did not except the Love of the Truth. (Christ)) And Also, 2 Cor 11:13-15 13-For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14-And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15-Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. These are just a few, but the scriptures warn us greatly. The Devil is the Master of Deception, afterall, he invented it! (John 8:44). Also, Matt 15:8 "These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me." I think this answers Matt 7:22. These Evangelists are seeking personal Glory/Wealth/Recognition/Position etc. Which is why Christ never new them (Matt 7:23). They are using the name, but only with their mouth. From 2 Thes 2:10 and 12, it says that the power that the devil uses in these matters is manifested from our unbelief, Unbelief that a personal relationship and faith in Christ is all that is required to provide the Healing (According to the will of God). People pray to Jesus for healing, and if they don't get instant healing (maybe because the Lord is testing their Faith), then they go to the current evangelist of the time, saying "The power that God has given this PERSON will heal me!". So in effect, they are trying to find another way than Christ! They Go to the Person, rather than Christ. As if Christ will say "Ok then, you have gone to a person, I will give you the healing you have asked for, because you have shown your faith by going to that person insead of me?????", I don't think so! I think this is EXACTLY what the Devil is trying to achieve. "Build up the Natural Man and our trust in us, so we won't look to Christ for our ALL." We all know that a house divided against itself cannot stand (Matt 12:25), but I think here that, because the Devil has achieved his goal, why wouldn't he rub salt into the wound and tell his disciple(s)(The one who has created the sickness in the person) to leave for the time being? So the Devil isn't against his cause, he is trying to deceve the person into thinking its because of the evangelists power with God that they were healed. I hear people say, we know its Christ! ... Then why did you go to the evangelist?? As Christ would say, O yea of little Faith! Afterall, the devil is not so concerned with making our life on earth a misery, He is more concerned about reducing the Church, the "REAL" church. He wants to make himself above the Most high (Isiah 14:14). Of course, these people don't worship the devil, but they are rejecting Christs descision regarding their personal prayer. Take from this what you will, I am very concerned with the Deception of the Devil. Notice how he attacked Jesus with Scripture in the Wilderness. That just backs up 2 Cor 11:13-15 mentioned above. The Devil is no Dummy, he knows the scriptures, very well. But knowing this, John 10 is so, so comforting, isn't it. God Bless.. Guy |
