Bible Question: Explain Matthew 6:6 |
Bible Answer: Dear Claudia, Welcome to the forum. Please read the chapter in context. Jesus was teaching His followers not to imitate those hypocrites (especially the Pharisees) who concern only on the outward behaviour of showing self-righteousness for gaining praise and admiration of others. No matter your deeds are for charity or spirituality, God values the heart not the outward appearances. You will see that Jesus sometimes uses rhetoric expression to emphasize the message of His teaching. This is one of those many examples. You may also find more in chapter 5. Shalom Azure |
