Bible Question: Does the Bible give any advise for the Victim of a crime? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Stephanie... Welcome to the forum! Yes, I believe there is a significant amount of advice for those who have been sinned against. I believe it can be summed up in the third petition of the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:12). It may seem trite because it is oft repeated, but it really is fundamental to our faith: We seek to forgive, just as our Lord has forgiven us. Actually, if you think about it, of all people, a Christian should understand forgiveness. After all, our Lord Jesus Christ was the victim of our own crime. No one can sin against us to the extent to which we have sinned against us. You might read through Colossians 3, too. In Him, Doc |
