Subject: Is it easy for God to forgive? |
Bible Note: Good day Brother Steve. Glad to help :-) Here's a copy and paste quote from your post. "We also know He is just. So in regards to forgiveness of those who repent, not only is He right to do so, (but it seems to me He is acting out of His nature.)" (brackets are mine) So I guess you didn't say exactly, that he was going against His nature, but that it (seems like) He is acting out of His nature. Now to someone reading along that could look like you really thought He would act out of His nature. Please note; that I said in my post that I didn't think you really would "seriously" consider that He really would do that, but that it was only just perhaps a passing thought. And I'd like to add, It didn't worry me at all. It did however "seem" like it maybe did bother Doc, at least enough for him to mention it in this way, (let me quote him) "Let us keep in mind that God is never, ever conflicted about anything He does." So you see, It seemed to me, that Doc was correcting you for your folly. I was simply saying that I didn't think you had really taken it that far. Being at least somewhat familiar with your theology, from reading your posts for the last year, I didn't think that it reflected that you would really seriously think that that was really true. And I'd like to add, now that I've given it some thought, also, that I'm pretty sure Doc was just making that statement to clarify for the benefit of others that might be reading along, and not necessarily directly at you. I hope I didn't mess things up even worse. I've tried to be as clear as I can. Sorry about the confusion. :-) We can surly see the folly in speculating about what others may be thinking. :-) God bless John |
