Bible Question:
Readin Acts I don't understand Acts7:58 "dragged him out of the city and began to stone him.Mean while ,the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul' Did they keep Stephen clothes and give it to Saul. I've looked all over to find out the meaning?? God Bless What a wonderful meaning of the Holy Spirit.. |
Bible Answer: The clothing of that day consisted of an inner and an outer garment. It was the custom to remove the outer garment in order to run or to work. Saul (better known by the name Paul) was enlisted to the task of taking care (i.e., watching) their clothes while they stoned Stephen. Paul alludes to this event in Acts 22:20. |
