Bible Question (short): Does the Bible forbid one to swear upon |
Question (full): Does the Bible forbid one to swear upon their souls salvation that they are telling someone one the truth. These are the circumstances: After 26 years of marriage I have suspected my husband of cheating. All circumstantial evidence that he has tried to explain away. Still does not "smell" right but I wanted to believe. Anyway, as thing progressed he accused me of infidelity. To make sure that he believed me I swore on my eternal salvation that I have never touched another man since we we have been married. I asked him for the same but he said that the Bible forbids this and that he would not risk his salvation. He has asked me to research this. I do not recall anything about this in the Bible. Please help me solve this. |
