Bible Note: "Follow peace with all men... Heb 12:14." "...the God of Peace... Rom 16:20" "my kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight... John 18:36(I'm not totally sure if this one fits here appropriately, but it might)" one of the bad problems of RPG is the concept that you get XP for Killing simply for the sake of slaughter. As if the searing of your heart as you take a life from the earth is a good thing. It is not that soldiers are not necessary in life (as God said police are appointed by Him and carry the sword for a reason Rom 13:4) but it is the unwise thinking that killing is fun and something to rejoice in or to be entertained by, that is sinful. Each human life sent to the land of the dead with out Jesus is fuel for the fires. and has no more opportunity for to be saved. This is a terrible thing. It is of course good to know how to defend your state or community if necessary, but a true hero does not relish death, or spilling blood. There is an element of sinful "Lust" in the act of blood hunger. as told by I John 2:10-11 James 4:1-3 Yes as Solomen said, There IS a time to Kill (Eccles 3:3). But as Jesus showed us (His Gospel miracles didnt involve killing to sway the people and save them), To HEAL is much more favorable and shows the LOVE of God. (Dont let the sun go down upon your anger Eph 4:26) (and remember what he said to the apostles when they wanted to call fire down from heaven to destroy whoever was bothering them Luke 9:54). Our human sinful nature craves to strike and retaliate but Jesus calls us to adopt the way of Peace as much as we can before we die. "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Deut 32:35 Rom 12:19 |
