Bible Question:
The NKJV says: "Be Angry and do not sin." What is this saying? Is anger encouraged, or am I missing something? |
Bible Answer: Hi, formereverything! Yeah... you've missed everything! The Psalmist is not condoning anger; he is placing a cap on our emotions. Anger is an emotion that, if let to run rampant, could destroy those around us, including our loved ones, and even ourselves! So yes, be angry (specially when you meet those who defile God) but be careful not to sin. And when you lay in bed search your thoughts and remove all negative feelings: all angry thought that would cloud your mind and build up an evil foundation in your heart: My dear friend, never folow a bad example, but keep following the good one; whoever does what is right is from God, but no one who does what is wrong has ever seen God.
