Bible Question:
Why were the Scribes and Pharisee like they were, why were they such Hippocrates? Matthew 23:25 |
Bible Answer: If you do a word search on the word Pharisees you will learn a lot about them and the whys of what they did. Here is one verse Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected God's purpose for themselves, not having been baptized by John. In essence they were the leaders, had high positions and Christ threatened their position. They did not want to submit to Him. It is a lot like today. People do not want to submit to Christ. They want to live the way they want. To follow Christ to some means they would have to change their lifestyles, something many do not want to do. Again, a word search on Pharisees will show you much. They would be what we call snobs today. Blessings, Val |
