Subject: What is Legalism? |
Bible Note: Good, Jules, good definition of legalism. To our litany of modern-day legalisms, could one not add any practice that is engaged in woodenly, slavishly and mechanically in conformity to church tradition or out of mere habit, but without spirit? This could include, for example, liturgies, prayers, communion, daily devotionals, or even the worship service -- performed regularly, flawlessly, in letter-perfect manner, but without spirit. --Hank |
