Bible Note: Lightedsteps You said, "why then try to keep the law that Christ has already kept for us" IMO, that is about as silly as trying to convince someone that because my parents paid their taxes perfectly each year of their working lives, I don't have to pay them. If the passages being discussed are no longer relevant, are void and null, then what "commands" and what "word" is being spoken of since the NT had not yet been preserved in one book? And what do we do with Mat. 5:17-19? Mind you, we don't "keep the Law" to be saved, we keep the Law because we ARE saved. It was not given to an unredeemed people. It was given to a people already redeemed to set them apart from the rest of the nations. Are we not grafted into this very olive tree? Or are we supposed to continue to look and act like the "nations" we came out of? I need some clarifiation here. Thank you |
