AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 5:13 ¶ "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its taste (purpose), how can it be made salty? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and walked on by people [when the walkways are wet and slippery]. |
Bible Question: Trying to understand Jesus'comment on salt losing its saltiness..... |
Bible Answer: Jesus was saying when salt looses it’s taste it is useless. And if we refuse to live a Christian life one that testifies to Jesus we are useless. He goes on to say we are the lights unto this world through us the world should see the light of the truth of Jesus Christ. I had a hard time understanding how salt lost it’s taste until I moved to Florida. Due to the humidity salt over a rather short period of time will actually lose it’s taste or saltiness. |
