Bible Note: Daniel, You are correct in your emphasise where love is concerned. 1 John 4:19, 1 Corinthians chapter 13. Love is central. Love energizes. Without it things are gonna get stale in a hurry. Everyone has a doctrine. Look at 1 Timothy 4:16 Paul tells us - watch your life and doctrine closely. Read this whole verse, it's vital. Go to 2 Peter 1:3-11. While the focus is narrow (Jesus) Ther are a number of aspects of that focus. This passage shows what we need to do in nurturing the relationship we now have with God.
