Bible Question:
Why did Jesus give this great command?Did he really me go baptizing (fully wet, covered with water) someone? Is this the first thing he done? Is it the Baptism or the Name of who we are baptized in?(Acts 4:12) |
Bible Answer: Yes he really meant to baptize. He didn't say it to everybody though. He was speaking to the 11. They then choose people to carry on the work. But, yes, He meant to baptize. Do we really have to get married, do we really have to have a wedding? Can't we just live together? It is just a ritual, and a meaningless piece of paper, right? Of course not. Your marriage is not recognized unless it is done leagally. So too, we must be baptized. We don't love our spouse because we get married. We aren't saved because we get baptized. But refusal to do so, disqualifies us from it's benifits. |
