Bible Question (short): Clarification |
Question (full): Thanks for your note, the same question was asked of me. Please allow me to clarify what you're saying. Given the 2 verses: Matthew 28:19 ...into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Acts 10:48 ...baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. 1. Even though the phraseology is different, both verses state that baptism should be done UNDER THE AUTHORITY of Jesus. 2. It is wrong to conclude that Peter is instructing us to baptise in the name of Jesus only, and not in the name of the Father or Spirit. Thanks, load |
