Subject: Mark 16:15-16 mean? |
Bible Note: Cornelius was not saved before baptism. He was baptized by the Holy Spirit so that Peter would know that "God is no respecter of persons" Acts 10:34. He received the Holy Spirit before he had any faith or belief in Jesus because Peter had not taught them yet (cf. Acts 11:15). If you read through the book of Acts every conversion is ended in baptism. According to Peter it is baptism that now saves us 1 Peter 3:21. Why would Jesus say, "he that believes AND is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16) if baptism is optional or nonessential? |
