AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 27:54 Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, they were terribly frightened and filled with awe, and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!" |
Bible Question (short): Are these the same centurion? |
Question (full): All those that have read the Bible and are familiar with Matthew the 27th chapter. I seek some input on the 54th verse. Now, as all these super natural things are taking place there is quite a large crowd of observers. Is it not strange that the only recorded statement made in the Bible is that of a centurion? Not from the Pharisees, not from the Sadducees, not even from a Jew. But a gentile centurion cannot contain his thoughts and makes this famous statement 54. Now the centurion, and they that were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. My question; what are the odds that this is the same centurion who earlier ask Jesus to heal his son? Found in the eighth chapter of Matthew. THANK YOU, NIGHTMANN |
