AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 25:45 "Then He will reply to them, 'I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did not do it for one of the least of these [my followers], you did not do it for Me.' [Prov 14:31; 17:5] |
Bible Question:
What is the "prophet's reward" and the "righteous man's reward in Matthew 10:41? Also what is "a prophet's name"? Is it the honor of a prophet? Same question for "righteous man's name". |
Bible Answer: Dear Taysr, Jesus has just told his apostles that following Him will require poverty, self-abnegation and likely entail suffering, even death (10:38,39). A "Prophet's reward" is for those who receive these impoverished "little ones" (the Disciples), because in receiving them they receive Jesus Himself (11:40; 25:34-36;45). Our kindness to the little ones of this world is our kindness to Christ. |
