AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 23:24 "You [spiritually] blind guides, who strain out a gnat [consuming yourselves with miniscule matters] and swallow a camel [ignoring and violating God's precepts]! [Lev 11:24; 27:30; Mic 6:8] |
Bible Question:
Could someone please expound on this verse. KJV Matthew 23:24 24. Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Thank you in advance. God Bless |
Bible Answer: This is the chapter where Jesus rebukes the Pharisees and Scribes. Actually, "rebukes" is putting it mildly. Each verse is an outlandish example of things done by them. In this particular section, Jesus is using opposites. In the preveious verse, Jesus essentially says that they majored in the minor aspects of the law, while ignoring the major and more important aspects of the law. Jesusman |
