Bible Note: Emmaus I'm not challenging what you said only asking a question. The three cannons you list definitely bring forth the belief of salvation through grace. My question how does pentance come into the picture. I had a friend that would go to confession and then come out and have to say X number of Hail Marys or Father forgive me (I mean no disrespect but that is what he told me he had to do). Wasn't that works? God is looking for a repentant heart it seemed what the church was doing was trying to make my friend regret what he had confessed to through works. I obviously don't understand it so please explain the idea is behind pentance. Thanks! EdB |
