Subject: what is the meaning of the fig tree |
Bible Note: concerning the fig tree. there are many significate meanings of the parable of the fig tree, but here Jesus used it to show the condition of Israel. He came to the nation His nation expecting fruit. Leaves of the religious formalism He found in abundance, but the fruit of holiness was lacking. He was hungry for the salvation of the people but crucifying Him, they told Him to save Himself. Thus in is "strange act" he rejected the tree. Isaia 28:21. |
