Bible Note: Well, Matthew 2:22 does say "Judea" here, and I seriously doubt that he would want to go to such an open place as Jerusalem after fleeing to Egypt.. But the Scripture says, "out of Nazareth will I call my son.." So not only did Joseph do this because he and Mary were familiar with the territory (Bethlehem and Nazareth), but he had divine guidance as well (to fulfill all prophecy). - Nolan |
