AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 2:16 ¶ Then Herod, when he realized that he had been tricked by the magi, was extremely angry, and he sent [soldiers] and put to death all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that area who were two years old and under, according to the date which he had learned from the magi. |
Bible Question: How soon after Jesus birth did the wise men show up? In Matt. 2:11, Scripture say they entered the house and worshiped the young child ? Does this signify a longer time frame than the wise men showing up when Jesus was in the manger, as most depictions of tradition maintain? |
Bible Answer: Hello Im4hym, You are correct that the Greek language indicates that he was not an infant. Also, Herod's action to kill all boys two and under tells us that Jesus was probably 18-24 months old. Steve |
