Bible Question: I've grown to believe the bible contains no mistakes but what I cannot figure how 3 wisemen followed a star in the east and they came from the east.Am I missing something? |
Bible Answer: Matthew 2:1-2 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king,[a]magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, 2 “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” This verse is likely making reference to where the wise men were when they saw the star. They were in the east. Since they travelled west, they were east of the star and east of Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Or, if indeed it refers to the star, then the star arose in the east and travelled west and the wise men followed after it. The bible is silent on the actual number of wise men. Hoth |
