Bible Question: The teaching of Zoroaster was prevelant in Persia at the time of Christ's arrival in Bethlehem. Why are these magicians and follower of pagan thought brought into such a sacred story? I realize their gifts financed the exile of the family. Is this a classic case of the "wealth of the sinner is laid up the for just? What type of "magic" and "star reading" were they engaged in? |
Bible Answer: What is more appropriate in this sacred story than God reaching the world through His Son? That the pagan world was responding is only a testament to the real need the world has for truth, and God's willingness to reach them. Who is to say that the shepherds were faithful men? The point is God used blue colar workers to proclaim truth, and foreign aristocrates to bow down. I think the story rocks! |
