Bible Question: I would like to know if a man can have more than one wife according to God's law. And if so why is this not considered adultery? |
Bible Answer: No, man cannot have more than one wife at a time if thats what you are asking.1Corinthians 7:1-16 should help in answering your question. Now if you are asking rather or not you can remarry after the first wife, then yes you may under certain conditions. If your wife should unfortunatly die, then you are allowed according to his law,or if there is adultry you then have the option to devorce and seek another but even with that he tells us its good to forgive.Theres one more I can think of, if your spouse should remarry after a devorce then that means she has put you away for another. I am not the expert but ckeck-out the scripture I provided as well as this one, Ephesians 5:21-33. All sripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in rightousness: 2ND Timothy 3:16. Be blessed. |
