AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 16:21 ¶ From that time on Jesus began to show His disciples [clearly] that He must go to Jerusalem, and endure many things at the hands of the elders and the chief priests and scribes (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court), and be killed, and be raised [from death to life] on the third day. Bible Question: Who were Jesus’ main opponents during His public ministry time? Why did they oppose Him, and how? |
Bible Answer: The only opponents to Jesus and his teachings were the Jewish Religious order of the time. They opposed his teaching that the spiritual Kingdom of God was within each person. That each person was the Temple of God. Each person was the Church which is his body, and each person is the priest of his own temple/body. These truthes destroyed the religious order that had been in effect for thousands of years. The Jewish hierarchy had Jesus killed by the Romans, they could not kill him themselves it was against their Law.This is why Jesus is considered the end of the world. Not the earth but the end of religon. He was the Truth of God. Luke 16:16, the Law and the Prophets were until John, since then the Kingdom of God is preached. This is also the end of time. Jesus preached the eternal, timeless word of God. Jesus was the Alpha and the Omega, the beginnig and the end. All is fulfilled. With Love, FTK |
