Bible Question:
Someone said that it is not possible to fast while you are at work. Does anyone have any sayso on this? Is there a specific amount of time you should fast or should you fast during the times you are off work? |
Bible Answer: loyal1357: Fasting was done by our Lord Jesus in Matthew 4:2. Fasting and prayer go together. In Matthew 6:16 to 18, we are are cautioned not to tell people when we are fasting. Have you ever known someone who said they were fasting? We are told to be quiet and keep it between the Lord and us. When I hear someone say they are fasting I think that is their reward as Jesus said. My opinion is a fast is done in a time when we are to be devoted to reading the Word, and in deep prayer. However, if you are fasting at work, that is just bewteen you and Jesus. There are different kinds of fasting for those on medication or who are required to eat at regular times for medical reasons. So fasting can be adapted to our lives. This would be an excellent time to re evealuate our spiritual weakness and areas we have grown in. Fasting could be a time of seeking the Lords will for understanding for a direction you must choose to go. Blessings. justme |
